A Word From Jodie

In 2001, my friends asked me to film the birth of their first child. It was a candle lit, water birth, at their home.

I was honored to be present at Shaya’s beautiful birth, and although I didn’t know it at the time, that is where my journey began.

A couple of births later, and with great encouragement from my friends, I chose to make this my passion.

I’ve always loved capturing life’s magical moments and applied my background in photography and documentary filmmaking 
in doing so. Filming births, I found, encompasses everything I cherish in creating a short documentary. 

My presence at a birth is quiet and unobtrusive, created by a deep respect for the sacred space, emotions and needs of the birthing couple. Using the available conditions, I’m able to create a beautifully edited movie of your birthing experience. 

This movie will unfold your personal birthing journey, your child’s coming into being and first hours of life outside your womb. 

I know you will view your birth movie over and over, share it with your close family and friends, and most importantly with your child.
