FAQ Why shouldn’t my husband film the birth?
I want to go to the hospital at the very last minute; will you come to my home as well? Yes. Your home is where some of the most magical moments and interactions occur. The birth story begins to unfold early on, and these moments are priceless.
What if I go into labor in the middle of the night? When you book me to film your birth, I’m on call for you at any time.
Do they allow filming at the hospital? Some hospitals do not allow filming, yet others have no problem with it. This is something you will have to clear first with your hospital.
In what format is the final movie, and how long will it be? You will receive a DVD of the final birth movie. Length varies, and can be anywhere from 15-25 minutes, including a slide show at the end.
Could you add pictures of my pregnancy to the slide show? Yes, and I can also add some of the pictures that you take during the first days at home.
Will I get the original Mini DV tapes of all the unedited footage? Yes, I will return the original Mini DV tapes with the finished birth movie.
Will it be graphic? We will discuss what you want and don’t want filmed, as well as what you would like to omit from the edited movie. I will work within your comfort zone.
Can the pictures from the slide show be printed or sent via email? Yes. Keep in mind that I take these pictures directly from the digital video, and therefore they are grainier and softer. |
